Abhi And Pragya’s Story In Kumkum Bhagya Inspires Rival Show

There’s no denying that Kumkum Bhagya’s Abhi and Pragya’s love story has struck a chord with fans. Actors Shabbir Ahluwalia and Sriti Jha will agree that despite their characters aging on screen, their popularity remains unaffected. In fact, Abhigya (as they are popularly referred to by their fans) continue to rule hearts. Want to test this fact?

There are handles on social media that are dedicated to these characters. Despite new character introductions in Ekta Kapoor’s show, the limelight continues to stay on the estranged couple. And looks like the success of Kumkum Bhagya’s 20-year-leap has now inspired rival networks to pick on a similar storyline.

Well, without mentioning names let us tell you that a competition channel has literally lifted the plotline of Abhi-Pragya’s love story and conveniently created a situation amongst their character. A few tweaks here and there, say for example Abhi-Pragya separate after losing Kiara.

The deeply-in-love duo cannot live with this guilt and decide to move on in life with each parent taking care of one of their twin daughters. Abhi raises Rhea to be a complete brat, while Pragya’s daughter Prachi is a perfect replica of her mother. Despite her promise to Abhi, Pragya must come live in the same city as her husband for the sake of her daughter.

In fact, Abhi and Pragya’s paths cross many times, but they do not end up coming face-to-face. The one time that Pragya and Abhi do see each other, the latter meets with an accident.

Of course, Abhi is bonding big time with Prachi without knowing that it is his other daughter. Pragya too feels a connect with Rhea, who is a completely different person around her mother. Then again Rhea and Prachi like Abhi and Pragya are unaware of their relationship.

Coming back to this other show, looks like the makers decided to latch on to Kumkum Bhagya’s growing popularity post its leap. And now we have a couple parting ways of living in different cities. Unknowingly, the protagonist ends up meeting his son and even bonds with him. Like in Kumkum Bhagya, the lady sees her husband and is grappling with an emotional situation.

It’s just too much in common for someone to miss we’d say. But then one cannot deny that ‘imitation is the sincerest form of flattery’. Hopefully, the makers will up their game and not just replicate the twists in Kumkum Bhagya, else it would be a bummer!
