DAILY WALK WITH CHRIST 10 MARCH 2023
TODAY’S TOPIC: DECEITFULNESS
SCRIPTURE: GENESIS 27:2-4, 6-10, 14-24
2 And he said, Behold now, I am old, I know not the day of my death:
3 Now therefore take, I pray thee, thy weapons, thy quiver and thy bow, and go out to the field, and take me some venison;
4 And make me savoury meat, such as I love, and bring it to me, that I may eat; that my soul may bless thee before I die.
TODAY’S WORD: DAILY WALK WITH CHRIST
Deceit is the action or practice of misleading someone by concealing or misrepresenting the truth. God hates deceit (Proverbs 6:19a). In order to follow God’s path, you must not cherish deceit. Even though God had purposed that Jacob will be great and be over his brother Esau (Genesis 25:23); Jacob devised his own means. He deceived his father and took his brother’s blessings (v. 35).
Hence, he suffered the consequences greatly. He had to leave home because of his enraged brother and was also deceived by his uncle Laban (29:25). Show me a deceitful man and I will show you a man who lacks peace. He is always fearful, thinking he will be discovered. Do you want to enjoy peace of mind? Then flee deception.
REFLECTION
Rid yourself of all deceit (1 Peter 2:1).
PRAYER
Lord, I repent of all deception in my life, in Jesus’ name. Amen.
