DAILY WALK WITH CHRIST 4 MARCH 2023
TODAY’S TOPIC: RESTLESSNESS
SCRIPTURE: JOB 7:4-5
4 When I lie down, I say, ‘When shall I arise, And the night be ended?’ For I have had my fill of tossing till dawn.
5 My flesh is caked with worms and dust, My skin is cracked and breaks out afresh.
TODAY’S WORD: DAILY WALK WITH CHRIST
Our reading describes vividly the state of a restless man. Job had gone through indescribable pain and found no quiet repose on his bed. His lament is typical especially of those who have been battered by life’s challenges. However, if one keeps focusing on his bad situation he might become restless.
Restlessness wears one out (Psalm 6:6a) but Christ restores. What are you losing your sleep over? Financial difficulties, a loveless marriage, a bad medical report and so on? Even so, Jesus bids you come to take your rest in him (Matthew 11:28). Do not continue to carry the burden of uneasiness. Hang it on Jesus – our burden bearer.
REFLECTION
Restlessness is the absence of peace.
PRAYER
Lord, I cast all my burdens on you. Amen.
