TODAY’S TOPIC: UNFRIENDLINESS
SCRIPTURE: GENESIS 37:3-4
3. Now Israel loved Joseph more than all his children, because he was the son of his old age: and he made him a coat of many colours.
4. And when his brethren saw that their father loved him more than all his brethren, they hated him, and could not speak peaceably unto him.
TODAY’S WORD: DAILY WALK WITH CHRIST
Friendship is a state of enduring affection, esteem, intimacy and trust among people. Friendship is the golden thread that ties the heart of the entire world. Everybody needs a friend, unfortunately not everyone is friendly. In our text, Jacob’s favourable disposition to Joseph made his brothers to be unfavourably disposed to him. They were unkind to him to the point they could not offer him the customary salutation of shalom.
Instead, they plotted to kill him. An unfriendly man always goes about with a frown, hardly smiling, cold, surly, indifferent and thus unapproachable. Such a man can hardly be at peace with others. Are you unfriendly? Be friendly and enjoy the peace of friendship.
REFLECTION
To have friends, you must be friendly.
PRAYER
Lord, I desire to be a friendly person. Amen.
