Scripture: John 4:23 But the hour is coming, and now is, when the true worshipers will worship the Father in spirit and truth; for the Father is seeking such to worship Him.

God created the heavens and the earth from nothing. He formed the man and woman and spoke all life into existence. Yet, our all-powerful Father, Who needed no outside assistance or resources, is looking for something.

He is seeking those who will worship Him in spirit and truth. He is not concerned with outward appearances or obsolete traditions. He is looking for those who will bow in His presence and lift up hearts filled with genuine adoration.

In 2 Chronicles 16:9, we learn that the eyes of the Lord are running to and fro throughout the whole earth looking for those whose hearts are loyal to Him; He wants to strengthen and support His children who are wholly and completely devoted to Him.

Too often, we have behaved like disgruntled children, unhappy with our lot and ungrateful for the gifts we have received, demanding more and better. When the wise men followed the star to Bethlehem, they must have been surprised to discover a child, but they fell on their faces and worshiped Him wholeheartedly.

We now know how that Child turned the world upside down. Our lives will never be the same because of Him. As the Father’s eyes roam the earth, may His search stop here as He finds us worshiping in spirit and truth.

Today’s Blessing:

May the Lord bless you and keep you. May the Lord make His face to shine upon you and be gracious unto you and give you His peace. Give God the glory He is due. Come and adore Christ the Lord.
