MFM DAILY DEVOTIONAL FOR TODAY

TODAY’S TOPIC: HOW TO GROW IN WISDOM
Dr. Daniel Kolawole Olukoya(DKO).

Memory Verse:
James 1:5 – If any of you lack wisdom, let him ask of God, that giveth to all men liberally, and upbraideth not; and it shall be given him.

Motivational Quote:
The invariable mark of wisdom is to see the miraculous in the common.

Prophetic Word for Today:
The wisdom from above is yours from today, in the name of Jesus.

Fire Scripture: James 3:13-17

13 Who is a wise man and endued with knowledge among you? let him shew out of a good conversation his works with meekness of wisdom.

14 But if ye have bitter envying and strife in your hearts, glory not, and lie not against the truth.

15 This wisdom descendeth not from above, but is earthly, sensual, devilish.

16 For where envying and strife is, there is confusion and every evil work.

17 But the wisdom that is from above is first pure, then peaceable, gentle, and easy to be intreated, full of mercy and good fruits, without partiality, and without hypocrisy.

MFM DAILY DEVOTIONAL FOR 13TH NOVEMBER 2023

From our memory verse today, the Bible says if anyone lacks wisdom, he should ask from the heavenly Father, He is the giver of every good gift. As we always ask our parents for our needs, so also we must ask our heavenly Father for what we need.

Wisdom does not come from our school teachers; it does not come from our friends, nor can we buy it from the market. It comes only from God and if you associate with wise people, you can receive it. The wisdom that comes from God is pure and full of love. James 3:17 says, “But the wisdom that is from above is first pure, then peaceable, gentle, and easy to be intreated, full of mercy and good fruits, without partiality, and without hypocrisy.”

A person can be knowledgeable but not wise. Wisdom that is not from God is earthly and devilish (James 3:15), and because the heart of man is evil, it will only produce wickedness and selfishness. Remember that the counsel of Ahithophel nearly destroyed the throne of King David. We must continue to ask the Lord every day to fill us with His divine wisdom and purge out the wisdom of the world from our souls.

Another way to grow in wisdom is to fear the Lord. The Bible says in Psalms 111:10 that the fear of the LORD is the beginning of wisdom. The fear of God causes you to continually walk in God’s shining path. His fear gives you power over sin and makes the seed of God in you to grow and bear fruits.

Another way to grow in wisdom is by soul-winning. The Bible says that he that winneth souls is wise. Soul winning is the heartbeat of God. He first showed us how to evangelise when He gave His only Son for our salvation. You gain a lot of attention from heaven when you involve in soul-winning. God will release gifts including wisdom into your life to enable you win souls into His Kingdom.

The wisdom that comes from God will keep you above, sharpen your discernment and give you entrance into the secrets of God. Imagine knowing things before they happen. You need to grow in wisdom!
