TODAY’S SCRIPTURE UNION DAILY GUIDE 11TH NOVEMBER 2022

In Acts 23:11, the Lord had made it known to Paul that he would also testify in Rome. God’s promises are yes and amen (2 Corinthians 1:20). We need to hold on to His promises in the Scriptures because He will never fail us. Paul never thought that the plot on his life could lead to the commander arranging for his trip to Rome. The Roman Commander was quick in sending Paul to Governor Felix in Caesarea.

Thank God he acted promptly from the tip he had received. God was however working in the background to fulfil His purpose in Paul’s life. Our God is sovereign! We should never think that He will always act in a particular way. Who would have thought that God was going to get Paul to Rome in such an executive style? Consider those who took the severe oath not to eat or drink until they had killed Paul (vs.12‐13).

It would be interesting to know if they did keep their vows. Who dares fight God? The way the civil authority here ensured protection and care for Paul is a challenge to our secular and religious authorities as well as our security personnel.

Practice/Word Application
So? Never limit God. He is sovereign (cf. Numbers 23:19).

• Any new insight or reinforcement of what you already know?

Closing Prayer

• Sovereign Lord, may I trust my future into Your hands, knowing You are working out Your purpose in my life.

Offer a prayer of faith in line with Exodus 4:12
“Now therefore go, and I will be with thy mouth, and teach thee what thou shalt say.”
Luke 4‐6; Romans 3; Psalms 116.
