DAILY WALK WITH CHRIST 1 APRIL 2023 TOPIC: THE SUFFERING MESSIAH
SCRIPTURE: ISAIAH 53:1-4
1 Who hath believed our report? and to whom is the arm of the Lord revealed?
2 For he shall grow up before him as a tender plant, and as a root out of a dry ground: he hath no form nor comeliness; and when we shall see him, there is no beauty that we should desire him.
3 He is despised and rejected of men; a man of sorrows, and acquainted with grief: and we hid as it were our faces from him; he was despised, and we esteemed him not.
4 Surely he hath borne our griefs, and carried our sorrows: yet we did esteem him stricken, smitten of God, and afflicted.
TODAY’S MESSAGE ON DAILY WALK WITH CHRIST
Naturally, men prefer to identify with people of high repute in the society. In our text, the description of Jesus defied anything desirable. Jesus the Messiah of the world had no beautiful appearance or majesty that could attract men to him. He was spurned, rejected, and afflicted. This is the Man of Sorrow, identified with suffering to save the world from the damnation of sin, Satan and death.
The Messiah went through much suffering for your sake. What are you willing to sacrifice for him? We are called to identify with the suffering Jesus. Do not let your position, wealth and status make you pompous to the point that you cannot stand any seeming belittlement. Just set your mind on accomplishing your mission.
REFLECTION
He suffered for your sake.
PRAYER
Lord, help me to endure suffering. Amen.
