TODAY’S TOPIC: THE LORD IS OUR STRENGTH AND DEFENSE

SCRIPTURE: ISAIAH 12: 1-6

12 And in that day thou shalt say, O Lord, I will praise thee: though thou wast angry with me, thine anger is turned away, and thou comfortedst me.

2 Behold, God is my salvation; I will trust, and not be afraid: for the Lord Jehovah is my strength and my song; he also is become my salvation.

3 Therefore with joy shall ye draw water out of the wells of salvation.

4 And in that day shall ye say, Praise the Lord, call upon his name, declare his doings among the people, make mention that his name is exalted.

5 Sing unto the Lord; for he hath done excellent things: this is known in all the earth.

6 Cry out and shout, thou inhabitant of Zion: for great is the Holy One of Israel in the midst of thee.

THE WORD: In moments of attacks we become vulnerable to fear and the feeling of insecurity. Our text today assures us that in tΓmes of vulnerability, God is our salvation and strength. In our land today villages and towns are attacked and many innocent and defenseless people are killed and properties destroyed. For that reason, many people resort to magical and diabolic means of defence!

Christians must not engage in such but trust God to be their strength and defence. They should ask him for
wisdom on the best ways they carn participate with him in keeping their communities safe from attacks. While we try to stay safe, we should keep praying to God for wisdom on how best to find lasting solutions to the insecurity in our land.

REFLECTION
Know that God alone is your strength and defence.

PRAYER
Lord, I make you my strength and defence today and always. Amen!
