DAILY WALK WITH CHRIST 14 MARCH 2023
TODAY’S TOPIC: IDOLATROUS
SCRIPTURE: PSALM 16:4-5
4 Their sorrows shall be multiplied that hasten after another god: their drink offerings of blood will I not offer, nor take up their names into my lips.
5 The Lord is the portion of mine inheritance and of my cup: thou maintainest my lot.
TODAY’S MESSAGE ON DAILY WALK WITH CHRIST
Idolatry is the worship of someone or something other than God. The worship of images, objects and statues as representatives of deities is idolatrous (Exodus 32:1-8; 1 Samuel 5:2-4). God Almighty forbids idolatry (Exodus 20:3). Our text reiterates that the idolatrous lacks peace and that their sorrows multiply. More so, they keep multiplying their idols and do not know where to stop (Jeremiah 2:28).
The wrath of God is on the idolatrous and they will have their portion and torment in the lake of fire forever and ever. What is that thing that you love, treasure or prioritize above God? It is an idol! Let go of it quickly and embrace God lest his wrath falls on you.
REFLECTION
Idolatry is deadly, flee from it.
PRAYER
Lord, I am sorry for making other things my “God”. Amen.
